Here's one classic Filipino recipe for everyone. I'll be sharing my Menudo to you. This is usually a stew of pork and liver dish in tomato sauce, but here I used ground pork instead of pork cut into cubes.
Ingredients
1/2 kilo ground pork
pig liver, cubed
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
pig liver, cubed
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 can green peas
1 large potato, cubed
1 medium carrots, cubed
1 small red bell pepper, chopped
227g tomato sauce
2 tbsp liver spread
4 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 cup water
1 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. salt
1 large potato, cubed
1 medium carrots, cubed
1 small red bell pepper, chopped
227g tomato sauce
2 tbsp liver spread
4 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 cup water
1 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. salt
How to cook:
1. In a casserole or pan, heat 3 tbsp cooking oil. Saute garlic and onion until caramelized.
2. Add the ground pork, then water and let it simmer until tender.
3. Add potatoes, carrots, tomato sauce, soy sauce, liver spread and leave for 10 minutes.
4. Add the liver and green peas. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
5. Season with salt and pepper. Lower the heat. Put red bell pepper.
6. Serve hot.
Hot Rice + Ground Pork Menudo= One Perfect Meal Combination! With the right blend of seasonings especially the tomato sauce taste, and the right crunch of carrots and potatoes, I'm pretty sure.... you'll crave for it too.
Nice recipe, look forward to tryig something different, sure looks nice and comforting.
